This new track is more experimental than the previous one. The topic of Stephen Crane’s poem, an angry god beating a little man, inspired me to use some natural samples of thunder, stomping and hammering. It should emphasize the impression of an almighty and very powerful godhead. As I stated before the gods in the world of Crane seem to come from an ancient and rough world before christianity. The god is wether merciful nor caring. The punishment of the little man is tolerated by the mass, which immediately supports the god and not the man. Nobody is asking for a reason or guilt, the brutal punishment is accepted.
Musical notes: I used a string-patch from the Zebra-synth, which reminds me on action-movies from the eighties like „Terminator“, for the first and last part and added the samples. The samples are mostly beside the rhythm to create an atmosphere independent from the music. The middle part with the heavy guitars features polyrhythms of the guitars against the bass and the drums and culminates into the „Aaaahh“ of the mass. Another polyrhythmic riff follows and the synth-bass is climbing slowly out of the guitars. At last the first part comes back, but with more vocal-intensity to focus again on the punishment-scene.

A god in wrath
Was beating a man;
He cuffed him loudly
With thunderous blows
That rang upon over the earth.
All people came running.
The man screamed and struggled,
And bit madly at the feet of the god.
The people cried,
"Ah, what a wicked man!"
And --
"Ah, what a redoubtable god!"
(Stephen Crane)
Do you like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Manowar?
Heartscore, a German-italian studio-project (no live-shows planned) bring back the power of classic Heavy Metal paired with some Prog- and Thrash-Metal influences.
Far out is an excellent descriptor for GOATS latest release. While saying that, if feels personal and nostalgic at times too. Never a dull moment as they say. It’s just really cool. Take a listen to it.. Acef Stripe
