A brand new heartscore-song, no violin, no acoustic guitars, just Rock, but an epic progressive rock song. Probably the last missing piece for the planned next official heartscore-album. The song reminds on my style around 2004, when I had released the album "straight to the brain". At these times I was more influenced by Metal resulting in guitar-driven, but always very quirky songs. Meanwhile I manage it sometimes to compose something straighter and to stop myself from adding one part and another part and another part, but back in 2004 I produced really mad stuff, full of odd measures, tempo-changes and weird arrangements. On this track "Haunted house" I worked without any restrictions and let the form expand to an eight-minutes monster. While listening now to the finished track I notice some influences from YES to Megadeth. Working on this new song I was a also bit influenced by the collaborations with my good friend Lee Lucas, because on our two songs I experimented with synth-parts, which can add a nice impression of a third dimension behind the other instruments. And also the theme is haunting as the title suggests, a kind of a romantic gothic story, a subtle horror.
Instruments used: Ibanez FRM100, BC Rich "Chuck Schuldiner" (Solo), VSL Jazz drums, Native instruments Musicman bass, Zebra Synth

lyrics
Haunted house
Here was a place where none would ever come
For shelter, save as we did from the rain.
We saw no ghost, yet once outside again
Each wondered why the other should be so dumb;
And ruin, and to our vision it was plain
Where thrift, outshivering fear, had let remain
Some chairs that were like skeletons of home.
There were no trackless footsteps on the floor
Above us, and there were no sounds elsewhere.
But there was more than sound; and there was more
Than just an axe that once was in the air
Between us and the chimney, long before
Our time. So townsmen said who found her there.
