about

After some experiments and collaborations and covers now a new original song ...

This is a song I have worked on since March 2014, when me and my family spend our vacation at Sagres/Portugal. Because I can not survive without music I had brought my little travel guitar and inspired by the great beaches and nature there I composed some pieces for acoustic guitar. One day when I warmed up with the little guitar the opening riff of this song came to my mind and I though it sounded so much Hard Rock and was really not fitting for this little acoustic. But I went on and developed a hard-rock-song on a small acoustic guitar. Later I stumbled upon the poem by Robert Frost and the poem reflected my observations during the vacation so well, that I choosed the poem for this song. This ended as as a straight rocker, not so progressive or sophisticated as usually, but with an progressive and experimental middle-part. There is definitely some 80s Hard-rock inside. Enjoy ...

lyrics

The people along the sand
All turn and look one way.
They turn their back on the land.
They look at the sea all day.

As long as it takes to pass
A ship keeps raising its hull;
The wetter ground like glass
Reflects a standing gull.

The land may vary more;
But wherever the truth may be---
The water comes ashore,
And the people look at the sea.

Neither out far nor in deep (Robert Frost)

They cannot look out far.
They cannot look in deep.
But when was that ever a bar
To any watch they keep?
