Once there was a man

by heartscore

While the last track stood in the tradition of classic Power-Metal, this one is a tad more modern and reminds myself on the slower songs of Metallica. The song is build up on a riff, which uses 5tuplets and 5tuplets are also used throughout the rest of the song giving it a special rhythmic feel. The intro, which is repeated at the end of the guitar-solo is even more modern and adds a touch of Jazz.
The poem of Stephen Crane tells us about a man, who should be wise, but shows a negative view of the world. So is he really wise?

Once there was a man --
Oh, so wise!
In all drink
He detected the bitter,
And in all touch
He found the sting.
At last he cried thus:
"There is nothing --
No life,
No joy,
No pain --
There is nothing save opinion,
And opinion be damned."
(Stephen Crane)
