This is the first song of a new serial, which will become hopefully a new heartsore-album at the end of 2017.
Before you hit the Play-button and get a heart-attack you should read this first: Over the last year I have posted Surf-songs, Surf-arrangements of movie-themes, String-arrangements of Steely Dan songs, a Horror-Metal track, a Soul-Ballad and an Orchestra track with vocals in the tradition of late romantic and Hollywood. In 2017 I want to come back to the kind of tracks, which heartscore is known for. First I plan to rerecord my 2007 album „Many directions“. Second I will come up with a brand new heartscore-album, which will introduce a radical change in style while keeping some of the key-elements of the heartscore-project. I see the new album as a direct follower of my 2004 album „Straight to the brain“, which also contained elements of Metal and was very guitar-driven. The latter albums went more in the progressive rock direction with diversified instrumentation and less aggressive guitar-work.
You can expect the following ingredients:
1. Face-melting brutal Metal-guitars
2. Analogue-style electronic drums
3. Synth bass
4. Choir arrangements
5. Strange song-structures
6. Many odd measures and tempo-changes
7. Poly-rhythms
8. Poems by Stephen Crane
9. Short songs, less solo-parts
About the song: I was immediately impressed by this poem by Stephen Crane and it inspired me for the whole concept. I try to support the meaning of the words musically. For an example the vocal line goes up to a syllabic line, when the poem says „in the sky“. Also the motif of climbing is adopted by a raising vocal-line. In the chorus-section I go to another chord, which is a bit far away, while the poem is on the words „strange part“. There are two main tempo-sections with 120bpm and 108bpm. On the word clay I go down to 72bpm to support the picture of clay, where you can stick easily. The poem is a great picture for the ambitions of the human being and maybe the false shine of wealth.

lyrics
A man saw a ball of gold in the sky;
He climbed for it,
And eventually he achieved it --
It was clay.
Now this is the strange part:
When the man went to the earth
And looked again,
Lo, there was the ball of gold.
Now this is the strange part:
It was a ball of gold.
Aye, by the heavens, it was a ball of gold.

Heartscore, a German-italian studio-project (no live-shows planned) bring back the power of classic Heavy Metal paired with some Prog- and Thrash-Metal influences.

Far out is an excellent descriptor for GOATS latest release. While saying that, if feels personal and nostalgic at times too. Never a dull moment as they say. It’s just really cool. Take a listen to it.. Acef Stripe
